He never complained, he always smiled and if anything (this may sound silly) but he was one of the highlights of our trip. He also asked if I needed to use the ATM machine in the airport which was a very good gesture. I had no reservation to hire their service for my return journey to the airport and the driver was punctual and friendly as well. Thilina was recommended to me as a driver and he did not disappoint. He drove us around Sri Lanka from December 27th - January 3rd from Colombo, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Hiriketiya, Galle and back to the airport. Across the 8 days he was very friendly, punctual, gave us information on his beautiful green country, good recommendations, pointed out wildlife, and joked with us. Any request we had was no problem nor was an early pick up at 5am to climb Sigiriya. Learning about his family was lovely as well. We also easily communicated by WhatsApp. His driving was safe and when he saw traffic issues he had a different route up his sleeve to take. The car was also comfortable and clean. He also ensured we got to experience a train trip in Sri Lanka when we were unsuccessful in getting train tickets before we arrived. He drove us to Demodara and once that ticket window opened he was 2nd in the queue and got us tickets on the amazing Calypso Train to Bandarawela. A real highlight of our time in this country. The drivers were always there well on time and were very friendly. The only thing we didn't like was that most vans didn't have proper or enough seatbelts, which didn't always feel comfortable, especially as we were travelling with our kids. My husband and I booked several taxi transfers with Trustker Company (this is the main company website, which also covers Colombo Airport Taxi) while on honeymoon in Sri Lanka and we were very impressed with the service. Booking was super simple via email, responses were prompt and polite, and prices were very competitive. At the start of our trip, our first driver Lakmal patiently waited at the airport while we were delayed having to file a missing luggage report with the airline. He was wonderful and friendly and he educated us on the history of the country and customs as we drove to our hotel. The car was very comfortable and we felt very safe. Our second driver Michael at the end of our holiday was also brilliant. He was so knowledgable about all the animals and wildlife we passed on our drive. My family has got one more extended family member in srilanka. His name is Gayan. Initially we did not know what is his role when we landed in srilanka. I thought all he can provide a good transport support but I am totally wrong. The way he treated us, not just me even my 8 yrs old daughter also thinks that gayan is too good in his profession and he did much more than that. My hotel did not give any comfortness frankly but I felt very much comfortable sitting, chatting, laughing, had a joyous moments in his Car. Since we landed till the last moment of the trip was fruitful just because of Gayan. I did some mistakes in my tour plan but after having discussion with him i realised that I should have booked only the flight tickets rest would have been taken care by Gayan. I will do that next time. So I strongly recommend one who planning to go srilanka to reach mr.Gayan for a safe and memorable trip. We were unsure whether or not to spend the money on a driver for our 17 day tour around Sri Lanka but it was definitely the best decision we made. It worked out to be roughly £45-50 a day which included everything from fuel to the drivers accomodation and meals etc. The car was also regularly cleaned. The company assigned us Thilina for our whole trip and we were so happy with his services. The road conditions and the (lack of) rules on the roads can be a bit crazy in Sri Lanka but Thilina was a confident driver and made us feel safe. We had planned and booked most of our trip before coming to Sri Lanka, but Thilina had lots of advice and suggestions/recommendations which was very useful. He was always on time and happy to stop mid driving for us to take pictures of views/wildlife. He even asked his mum to collect and package some pandan leaf for me to take back home to the UK for my mum. We enjoyed the knowledge Thilina shared with us about the country along the way, his sense of humour was a bonus and he was also a great car DJ! We didn't have a lot of time to shop around and only got one other quote but this company was significantly cheaper in comparison. We had the best time in Sri Lanka and it was mainly because of the reliable service our driver Buddika provided. His driving was super smooth, we always felt completely safe, even in the busiest traffic situations. Our itinerary took us to many different destinations around the country, with all the main tourist sites, but also some specific places off the beaten track. Buddika always found a way, communicated with the locals for local information and added some additional advice. Buddika is a very friendly, gentle and calm person, which is especially important to us, when spending two weeks with someone. Some practicalities: Booking and organization was straightforward, transparent and hassle free. Morning pickups worked like a charm, basically he was always already waiting for us. The car was safe, with working seatbelts, comfortable, with A/C and our driver also always looked for shaded parking spaces so the car was our escape from the heat. Booking was a little bit tricky. I started with Colombo Air Taxi and looking for a private round trip I was redirected to Rent a car Sri Lanka (rentacarsrilankawithdriver@gmail.com). This company seems to belong to Trustker, a big car rental company, from there I got a confirmation and a bill. I gave them a complete plan with all my stays and points of interest. They charged me 54 Euros per day (no advance payment necessary), including all kilometers, fuel, road and parking fees, driver's lodging and his meals, altogether 11 days. Good Honda Sedan A/C. Driver's name was Thilina. He did excellent work. Pick-up at airport, driving style, behavior, friendliness, trustfulness, punctuality, knowledge about traffic time and conditions, in all aspects perfect. Lakmal was our driver and guide. The pick up from the hotel was in time. The car was nice, clean and spacious and the drive was comfortable. Lakmal was knowledgeable and showed us the sights worth seeing. The visit to the elephants was great and well worth the visit. We also went to a zoo near to the elephant orphanage - that was average. Kandy was ok - the usual hustle and bustle. We had a meal and a view of the city from the lookout. Lakmal advised us on how to stay safe as we moved around. On the way back we visited a tea factory run by local women and watched the production process. At the end we had the opportunity to taste their tea and purchase a box of tea made at the site. We got back to the hotel on time and during the drive Lakmal was able to give us an insight into Sri Lankan life and culture. I would recommend this experience if you’re visiting Sri Lanka. We were suggested to take Colombo airport taxi from friends that had previously traveled to Sri Lanka. Our driver, Malith, was one of the most wonderful - he was kind, safe and spoke with a lot of knowledge and wisdom about life in Sri Lanka. Our trip would not be the same without him. This taxi service was an integral part of me and my partners trip to Sri Lanka. Delayed flight and our first driver was there. All arrived in good time and were informative throughout. Often stopping to show important parts of the island. I used this company 4 times from the airport to Kandy and from Ella to Hikkaduwa and from Hikkaduwa to Colombo and finally from Colombo to the airport. It has consistently beaten the prices offered to me at all the hotels I stayed at. My hotel in Ella was very remote and the driver not only came right up through the narrow roads but arrived early in case he could not find it. First time in Sr Lanka fir a 5-day visit. Not very different from Kerala in south India, away from Colombo lush green and full of life. Our driver, Niroshan, was with us throughput from and back to BIA. Friendly, courteous and always punctual. The only downside is covering 110 km in 4-5 hours, thereby spent too much time on the road. We were misguided by info on the websites/trip planner. It is better to camp at one site and enjoy 2-3 nights, rather than covering too many places. Car broke down on the way. I can't really say enough about this company. Those guys are great and their arrangements are perfect. First and the most important, the situation this May in SriLanka was miserabpe, with the quarantine you have to go through as a tourist to the lockdown that followed. Those guys helped me with all my transports. Their guys are so clean and comfy, and the driver who took us was great. He was so polite and a very good driver. We used this company (Trustker) for an airport pick-up and return drop off recently and found their service to be excellent. The airline made a last minute change to the arrival airport which I then had to frantically change with the taxi company as the alternative airport was an Air Force base and the driver was required to provide full details in advance for security clearance. This was dealt with promptly and politely. Our driver (Indika) was on time, friendly, very polite and a very careful driver (compared to most road users in Sri Lanka!!). On our trip to Sri Lanka we wanted to see the different aspects of the country so we planned to do a trip with the stops Dambulla/Sigiriya/Kandy/Nuwara Eliya/Ella/Udawalawe. We had planned a 2 centre holiday in beautiful Sri Lanka and needed a driver to get us to and from each! We chose Colombo Airport Taxis from reviews on Tripadvisor and were delighted with their service and costs. From the start they answered emails promptly and provide all of the information we needed to plan it all. Our first trip was from Negombo to Wadduwa, but we wanted to see some of the sights of Colombo on the way. Michael our driver arrived promptly to pick us up, easily fitted all of our luggage in his Honda Estate car and off we went! Driving in the cities of Sri Lanka is an 'experience' with TukTuk's and scooters coming at you from all directions but Michael proved to be a very safe and confident driver! He gave us a great tour of Colombo stopping to see a couple of the major temples and then getting us to our beach resort at the time we requested. As we were so pleased with him we requested him again and we were fortunate enough to get him for our other 2 trips. The transfer from the beach to Yala is about a 6 hour drive but as we had requested a tour through Galle on the way Michael again delivered and after showing us the City allowed us time to visit the fort and enjoy the views from there. On the way into Yala he drove via some side roads in a nearby reserve and pointed out several birds to us and stopping for pictures! He also recommended a guide to us for Safari's in Yala and contacted him to set us up and he proved to be a great recommendation! Our final trip with Michael was from Yala back to our airport hotel which he said would take 6 hours - pick up 10am and drop off 4pm with lunch on the way - perfect! If you are looking for a reliable company to drive you around Sri Lanka then I have no hesitation in recommending Colombo Airport Taxis. 8 months ago

The website gives a very useful guide to prices you can expect and the response to my request for a quote was very swift and matched the website. My parents and I went 2 weeks to Sri Lanka, mainly for kitesurfing in Kalpitiya. From there, we ordered a 4 days (800km) taxi to different locations: Horton Plains, Ella, Kandy, Kandalama, Sigiriya and back to Kalpitiya. Wasantha, our driver, brought us everywhere safely and on time. Furthermore, he was very kind, helpful and flexible. Every evening he dropped us at our hotels and picked us up the day after. He also helped us buying our train tickets at the right price, dropped us off at the station (Ella) and picked us back up timely in Kandy 7 hours later. During all our trips he also was a very good tour guide: while speaking good English, he knew a lot about Sri Lankan nature, history, culture and religion. Used them three times during our week long Sri Lanka trip (Southern and Western province). The drivers are extremely punctual, pleasant and being two women travelling by ourselves, we felt safe at all times. We found this company online via a Google search and booked a taxi to pick us up from Colombo airport to Sigiriya. I was a little bit apprehensive about booking via email, not having read any reviews before we booked, but we needn’t have worried. Our diver was waiting for us with a board at arrivals as planned. Colombo Airport Taxi were so good that we chose to use them throughout our 16 day stay in Sri Lanka. Requests for taxis (by email) were always responded to very quickly (often within minutes!), the prices were competitive and we were sent a contact number for our driver on each occasion. Every driver we had was excellent, pointing out landmarks along the way and stopping whenever we requested. The drivers were always early and we felt very reassured that our transfers would always run smoothly. Public transport timings can be a little bit unreliable in Sri Lanka, so this took all the hassle out of our travel. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely use again. 8 months ago

I randomly found this company online and booked their services for several legs of our trip around Sri Lanka. I didn't use for one leg as the hotel we were staying in arranged a driver. I also didn't realize they provided guides so didn't use them for our ancient city area experience. Emailing with the company provided costs for each leg of our journey and in some cases included stops. Communication via email was prompt and once on the road there was a phone number provided should we need to communicate. All of the drivers were on time, had clean, air conditioned cars and all spoke good English. We had airport pick up to Hotel in town, and then trip to Onawatuna Beach and return a week later and thence to airport. There were 6 of us with cases and the 4 journeys were without mishap and very enjoyable. For those who don't know Sri Lankan roads are a free for all except for the 'Sri Lankan suicide buses' who take no prisoners. Road journeys through the city are not for the faint hearted but behind an experienced driver provides many laughs and traffic management hints without a hint of road rage anywhere to be seen. We were met at Colombo airport after a flight from Male in the Maldives by a nice young man who drove us to the Centauria Wild hotel in Udawalawe. The taxi trip was almost 4 hours, but once we got used to how the roads are used in SriLanka we settled in for the journey and our driver was very safe & efficient. We were met 2 days later by another nice driver in the foyer of our hotel for the return trip to the Marino Beach Hotel in Colombo, and again the trip was safe, fast and uneventful. The cost to travel from Colombo Airport was 12,500 LKR and the return trip was 12,000 LKR. We booked this travel on the company's web site, and had a number of email communications from them confirming our taxi travel arrangements. I had a late flight into Colombo and wanted to go straight to Kandy rather than waste a night by the airport. I read that the bus service is unreliable late at night, and didn’t want to navigate to Kandy alone in the dark. So I arranged a new sedan with a/c for $8750LKR (approx $55USD). The car services at the arrivals hall offer this service for approx $7000LKR, but I didn’t want to risk being stranded in case they were closed. I was promised that the driver would be at the airport holding a sign with my name. When I arrived, the driver was not there. I called the company and he said he was 5 mins away. When he arrived he said he had lent his car to another driver, who within a few mins picked us up. We then dropped the driver off elsewhere. Surely it was an innocent mistake, but at 10:30pm and my first time in Sri Lanka it felt a bit odd. He mostly drove well, but was texting (with his ringer on) for most of the trip which was off-putting and quite grating after 7 hours of traveling already. After 90 mins, he said he would stop for 5 mins to have a cup of tea (at midnight...). He left me in the car with the car running, seemingly in the middle of the main street of a small town, which was also a bit off-putting. The website explicitly said no stops unless toilet is requested by the passenger. Eventually we arrived in Kandy - about a 2.5 hour trip. Not unpleasant but I don’t think I would recommend this service unless you’re in a pinch. 8 months ago

We had the taxi arranged with Colombo taxi's,after a long flight we were looking forward to just getting into the taxi and relaxing at the hotel,when we arrived,no name on the card and no driver,I called him and he said he would be 20mins,after 30mins I tried to call,no answer,after 40mins he answered and said it hadn't been confirmed and wouldn't be picking us up,we then had to get another company to take us.Tried to see if it was just a mishap so tried to book for a return trip to the airport,they didn't even bother to reply.Don't use them.useless!!!!!! 8 months ago

One of the best things when you arrive in a country you don’t know, is that the online transport booking you made back home is actually there and on time!! Colombo AirportTaxi is a super reliable company, we can highly recommend it to anyone. We were so impressed with our driver Neil that we put a special request for him every time we needed a driver around the Island. Neil is a friendly young man who can speak English well, he is punctual, actually he is always at least 30 minutes early. Neil is a safe driver which is very important since traffic in Sri Lanka isn’t!! Neil doesn’t talk or play music unless you would like him to, he is a clever, funny guy that knows a lot about Sri Lanka, you can clearly see he loves his job. He keeps his focus on the road and does not use his phone which I have seen many drivers do. And above all he is always in a good mood. Not only was he our driver during our one month holiday, he became a friend. 8 months ago

It is easy to orginize your trip they answer all inqueries and e-mails in 30 minutes any time of the they. If all the details are clear of your trip you receive an e-mail, that your trip is confirmed and they give you the phone number of the driver as well. The driver is waiting for you at the arrival hall with your name on the billboard, nd you can pay in any currency. Airport to Colombo city was €22 + the child seat €3. The driver was very polite and careful on the road, spoke good english, and the car was a clean Toyota Prius. Absolutely recommended. 8 months ago

On arrival at the airport we visited the official taxi stand and ordered a taxi to Colombo 7 district - the price was as expected 2650 rupees and we were given a ticket and told to pay the driver. All good so far We were taken to our car and the driver spoke very little English. He said the road was blocked and we would have to use the highway which would cost another 300 rupees as it was a toll road. I had to pay this as we went through the toll He drove so slow as his oil warning light was permanently on. Despite his colleagues telling him where we wanted to go he had to stop 3 times for directions and on arrival proceeded to charge us 3300 rupees - I am not sure why as his English was not good enough but I just feel he ripped us off If using this service my advice would be to ask at the desk if the fare includes the toll fee. 8 months ago

The guy arrived to airport at least 20 minutes before the appointed time! He was professional, cheerful and not overly commercial. In 4 hours (usual duration) he took me to Nuwara Eliya. I ordered the cheapest car. It turned out to be fresh Honda Vizio (Vision?) Hybrid, 1-3 years old with nice A/C, super comfortable. The prices matched those listed on website. Highly recommended if you are short on time and/or do not want to spend time in trains. 8 months ago
