How hard is the climb?
You can drive most of the way and walk the final section (short stair segments), or take the longer stairs from lower down. We adapt to your preference.
Best time to visit?
Morning or late afternoon for cooler weather and softer views. Midday can be hot with less shade on the rock.
What should we wear/bring?
Light clothing, hat, sunscreen, and good footwear. Modest dress for the temple area; remove footwear when entering shrines. Carry water.
How long is the drive?
Colombo ↔ Kurunegala is typically ~2–2.5 hrs each way depending on traffic. A 7:00 AM pickup works well for an easy day.
